Foundation problems are as unique as the homes that suffer from them. Owner of Ohio Basement Systems Mike Rusk talk about how his company can help homeowners with foundation issues.
Sinking problems can come in many shapes and sizes. It might be the whole house, or just the garage, or even a deck on one side of the house. The best way to solve this problem is through the application of foundation piers. These piers are attached to the base of the foundation and reach sturdier soil or bedrock that will provide the necessary strength to stop the sinking, and in most cases, raise the sunken area back up to level.
Bowing walls are another sign of a foundation issue, and there are several different solutions for this predicament. Slightly bowing walls can be fixed with the application of CarbonArmor, which will stop walls from buckling any further. This dime thin carbon fiber strip is applied with an epoxy resin, and finished with a tensile strength greater than steel.
More serious bowing problems can be fixed with a product called the PowerBrace, which is a support that is installed on the inside of the foundation wall. This steel beam is connected via a brace, which allows for continuous tightening to potentially straighten a bowing wall.
With their free inspection, Ohio Basement Systems will identify what your situation requires. If they can work from the outside of the house in the soil around it, they will start there. If there isn't enough room outside, they have the products and expertise to work from inside the basement. Either way, they have you covered.
