Ohio Basement Systems Partners with Habitat for Humanity 

This fall, Ohio Basement Systems (OBS) employees got their hands dirty with Habitat for Humanity of Portage County. As part of the companywide Build Together 2023 initiative, seven employees assisted at a home build in Ravenna. 

The OBS team assisted in digging trenches at the future home for a couple and their five children. Shatia and Andy Powe, Sr. broke ground on the home in September of last year. They will have put in 500 volunteer hours between the two of them, in addition to help from the community, by the time construction wraps up in January. 

The Powes are extremely grateful for the help of volunteers like OBS employees for making their dreams come true. 

The partnership is part of a $100,000 donation Groundworks®, OBS’s parent company, made to Habitat for Humanity International to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing. In addition, it gives 4,500 employees the opportunity to volunteer in over 50 communities this year.
