The 2020-21 NBA season may be a little different this year. Stadium seating at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse will only be at 14 percent capacity, and more Cleveland Cavaliers fans will be watching from home.

Spending game day at home has more fans thinking about the ultimate man cave, and some homeowners are taking action to build a sports room.  In response to COVID-19 lifestyle changes, 36 percent of homeowners plan to fix up their homes this year as home repairs surge.

We got an insider’s look into the basement of former Cavaliers player Kyrie Irving with a video shared by another Cavaliers alumni, Mike Miller. In a reply to his initial tweet, a follow-up video shows the two in the same basement two years later, and Miller’s son crushes it.

Even though a basement can be the best spot for a man cave, Larry Nance Jr. doesn’t want to live in one full time. When Nance was traded to the Cavaliers in 2018, he ran into an unexpected challenge. He has to convince his mom that he didn’t want to move back home. Even while Nance was out looking at rentals, his mom was sweetly suggesting, “Our basement is pretty nice.”

But as sports fans, we know the best part of a man cave is watching your favorite team take the Championship. In this homemade reaction video, we see a family crowding around the TV to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2016 NBA Finals.

What’s In Your Basement?

Whether you want to use your basement as a sweet place to watch the game or for an at-home basketball court, the first step is to install a professional basement waterproofing system. This can help protect your man cave from flood damage so your new floors, furniture, and memorabilia stay safe and dry. Waterproofing also improves the air quality, transforming a musty or damp basement into a place you want to hang out.
