Your technician Chris Shewell did the annal maintenance inspection for our basement waterproofing system installed last year. He was very thorough and set up the air system for a more efficient flow and relocated the control panel to a more convenient location on top. He explained how the air system could be put in an enclosure with ducting if we so desired. He told me the average life span I could expect for the pump backup battery and a replacement during the warranty period needs to be done by OBS to insure proper installation. After my basement flooded from a drain back up, in July of 2023, and Pure Clean Water Removal Company with excellent results, dried my basement and noticed some mold in the corner, I called Ohio Basement Systems, and set an appointment with Joel Rhoads within days. I also called Ohio State Waterproofing and it took 2 weeks for an appt. To make a long story short, Joel Rhoads, an honest man that he is, advised to try a water backup plug that lets water drain, but it also plugs backup water from back flowing from a heavy rain. I only had water backup twice in 35 years. I never had actual water seepage through the foundation blocks. He also advised lifting the concrete, because it sunk a little from the outside corner where the mold was, and digging to waterproof that corner. On the other hand, Ohio State Waterproofing Co, with all their bells and whistles tried selling me their complete system, for an absorbent amount of money, and it was all (inside AND outside) or nothing for water seepage that I never had. All I may have been interested in was just outside waterproofing the foundation in that corner. I’m the type of person who tries by baby steps first. In this day of age, it is so hard to trust anyone, and to have come across Joel Rhoads, was a blessing. I believe he saved me a ton of money! I sincerely recommend Joel from Ohio Water Basement Systems for his honesty over greed.

Wet basement remediation can be handled by digging the outside perimeter of the home 🏡 and installing both drainage and applying sealant; an expensive and disruptive method. Since our 64 year old home already had moisture damage in the finished portion of the basement, we concluded the Ohio BS method of removing all of the wet interior wall damage and trenching inside for their proprietary drainage panels would prove most effective. During our initial consult with Kevin, the process sounded complicated, but in two working days a crew of six men who each day communicated their arrival time and intentions, completed the entire project. Ken, Owen and Kalen covered our personal basement contents with plastic and Mitchell, Rocco and Antwane removed an excessive amount of the damaged walls and concrete material. They installed their complete drainage system and a modern sump that continues to drain water 💦 from outside the home, the air conditioning condensate, water softener / filter flush, dehumidifiers and utility sink. The peace of mind in not having any one of these water sources Again create floor, wall or furniture damage is worth the expense and temporary inconvenience. OBS transferable, all time warranty is a Plus !

Our crawlspace was the source of a great deal of humidity our house. Ohio Basement Systems covered the earthen floor with thick plastic sheeting, secured at the top edges to the foundation. They also installed a dehumidifier in the crawspace to help dry out the structure and maintain lower humidity.One year later, during an annual inspection (included in initial cost) we asked that the dehumidifier be repositioned — it was in contact with floor joists and, when running, causing an annoying vibration throughout the house. Technician Alex D. was able to resolve the issue and the house is now not only drier but quieter than before. We are very happy with the work done.
